About Kimberly Hicks Counseling

Our Philosophy

At Kimberly Hicks Counseling, I believe that every person holds the capacity for healing, growth, and meaningful change. My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and a true respect for each client’s unique story. I take a strengths-based, individualized approach while also working to help you uncover and understand the deeper patterns and root causes that may be impacting emotional wellbeing and keeping your from stepping into your full potential.  My goal is to create a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and supported as they move toward greater clarity, self-awareness, and lasting change, overall health, and that therapy can be a powerful tool for achieving this balance.

Our Services

I offer individual telehealth counseling for adults in the states of Maine, South Carolina, and Colorado.  I specialize in working with anxiety and panic disorders, trauma, depression, stress management, life transitions, and substance abuse. Sessions are held via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform to ensure both flexibility and privacy. Most private insurances accepted in all states services are provided in and self-pay rate available as well. I understand that financial circumstances vary, and I offer a small number of sliding scale appointments for those in need. If cost is a barrier, please feel free to reach out to discuss current availability.

Our Approach

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and rooted in compassion, curiosity and authenticity. I believe meaningful change happens when we explore not only the challenges you’re facing today, but also the deeper patterns that have shaped your experience. I draw from a range of therapeutic models to meet your unique needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based techniques. I am also IFS-informed and integrate parts work to help clients develop a deeper understanding of their inner world and foster greater self-acceptance and healing.
